CALUM BUTCHER KEEPS ON LEARNING FROM THE GAFFER

4 November 2015

Butcher had never played in League One before he moved to Burton Albion.

Under the management of former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, the Ex-Spurs youngster wasn’t sure what to expect from the Dutchman when he first arrived.

“I think when I first came I didn’t know what to expect.

“I have been here for three or four months now.”

Butcher seems to have settled down well in England and he is certainly putting his mark on the central midfield position to try and make it his own.

Hasselbaink promised his own style of play when he first came to the Pirelli Stadium and he hasn’t yet failed to do so.

“I am learning about how he likes to play and how he likes to set up so it’s been really good." Said to Londoner.

Butcher went on to add “I’ve learned a lot from the last three months.”

There is a lot to learn when you move not only clubs but move countries too. Hasselbaink has brought an attractive style of play to East Staffordshire but he has brought some extra quality and added it to each and every one of his players.

“Game management is massive in the game.” Said Calum.

“I am more defensively alert and just positioning and stuff like that on the pitch, he is good like that (the gaffer).”
