SKIPPER'S AMBITIONS TO GO INTO MANAGEMENT

12 November 2015

JOHN Mousinho has ambitions to move into management when his playing career ends.

The Brewers captain started his coaching badges when he was only 21 and has been progressing through them ever since and has now started his A licence.

He says: “I would love to go into coaching or management when I have finished paying. It has always fascinated me how one man is responsible for a group of players and it’s a massive challenge.

“When you are a player you have influence over the game but you take care of your own game first. It’s completely different as a manager. You have control over the whole club but can’t step over the white line and play any more.

“The coaching badges are a qualification but I do real learning every day at the football club. I have had 14 or 15 managers in my time and you also learn from both the good and the bad and that has been the best experience for me.

“It’s an extremely competitive job, with hundreds of applicants for every position and you need to stay at the cutting edge to get involved.  But eventually I would love to make that transition.”
