BREWERS BACK TYRE SAFETY INITIATIVE

2 October 2015

BURTON Albion's players and manager have had had a health check on their tyres after an invitation from neighbours Pirelli.

This October, the tyre industry is  supporting Tyre Safety month and Pirelli welcomed Burton Albion guests to their Derby Road facility to check their tyres.

Tyre Safety Month is an annual initiative that focuses on a different element of tyre safety each year. In 2015, the focus is tread depths. A recent survey conducted by TyreSafe found that more than a quarter of motorists were replacing their tyres when they were already illegal.

Pirelli joined forces with Pro-Align who brought along an innovative automatic tyre tread depth measurement system that  checked tread depths of the Burton Albion player’s tyres in seconds.

Brewers skipper John Mousinho, defender Darius Charles and manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink all had their tyres checked - and got the thumbs up.

The skipper said: "Tyre safety is very important and we were delighted to go along to Pirelli to help raise awareness."
