BURTON ALBION LADIES FA CUP DREAM CONTINUES

16 October 2015

After excellent wins in the three previous rounds of the SSE Sponsored FA Women’s Cup the Brewers own ladies team will take on FA Women’s Premier League side Radcliffe Olympic Ladies in Round 4.

Radcliffe currently sit second in the midland division of the FA WPL and come into the fixture on the 8th November having won 2-1 against Sheffield base side Oughtibridge War Memorial LFC in the last round.

The Nottingham based side have a very talented squad and boast a number of ex FA WSL players within their ranks so the Brewers will face a tougher challenge in round 4 against a team 2 leagues above the Brewers.

The fixture is again being played at Mickleover Sports Don Amott Arena and another good cup atmosphere is expected after good support in the previous home ties.

Adam Smallman, Head of football at BALFC said “This is a first for the club going this far so the important thing is we go out on the pitch, do our best and enjoy it. Radcliffe are a good side and are at the level we are targeting to reach so it will be good to test ourselves against an experienced FA WPL side.”

The fixture is a 1pm Kick-off at Mickleover with admission prices of £2 for Adults, Under 16s and season ticket holders gain free entry to the game.

“Your support for the ladies is always a vital boost for them at games and really adds to the team every game and we thank you for your continued support."
