DARIUS CHARLES is still missing from the match day squad as he recovers from a broken leg. He has been training with the team for about two weeks now but Hasselbaink isn’t putting a time limit on his return.

ZELI ISMAIL is edging ever closer to full-fitness and could begin to play a bigger part in the Albion squad in the near future.

CALLUM REILLY is still recovering from a slight groin injury but like Darius Charles, he has started to train with the team over the past couple of weeks.

Hasselbaink is expected to rotate his squad for Tuesday’s game to give some of his players recovery time having three games in a week.

Oliver Turton

A talented and versatile academy graduate who featured regularly for the Alex last term. He made 48 appearances last season – the most of any Crewe player. He also scored his second career goal away at Preston North End.

After making his debut on the penultimate game of the 2010/11 season against Stockport, Turton made a handful of appearances for the Alex in 2011/12. He featured more frequently over 2012/13 and 2013/14, starting his first league game for the club against Yeovil.

He has played in central midfield, out on the wing and at full-back for the Alex and has become a key player under Steve Davis.

STUART BEAVON is still Albion’s leading goalscorer with 5 goals so far this season after claiming the only goal in the game against Rochdale.

NASSER EL KHAYATI hasn’t scored for a while and has been struggling with injury recently. He will be looking to get back to scoring ways against Crewe.

ADAM KING is leading the way for Albion’s next opponents. He has netted 4 goals so far from midfield but RYAN COLCLOUGH is adding pressure to the central man following closely behind on 3 goals.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink:

“Crewe is not an easy game. They are a lot better than people think

“They are a very good side going forward but they are a side that pass the ball in tight areas.

“We are going to tactically focus on Crewe.

“You have to do that and respect them. We have to know how they are going to play.”

Stuart Beavon:

“Crewe could go on and win six games in a row and be where we are.

“League positions at the minute are irrelevant.

“We need to work hard because we know what they are capable of.

“It is always nice to get out straight away and put it away.”
