JIMMY Floyd Hasselbaink praised the patience of his Brewers side as they battled to a 2-0 win over Port Vale.

The Gaffer said: "We had to be patient but we deserved it. We were the better team.

"They made it very difficult for us so all the respect to the boys for what they have done. We will see more teams come here and try to upset us and shut up shop. But we must give nothing away and find a way to break them down.

"It took a while but we found the net and that was important for the boys and for the fans.

"We played the game out really well. It was important for us to lock them out and not let them back into the game. We did that really well.

"I thought perhaps it might not be our day but we kept up the pressure and it was good goal from Tom Naylor - who hadn't scored yet. I'm delighted for the whole team."
