NASSER El Khayati could easily play at a higher level and is an important asset for Burton Albion.
That’s the verdict of Brewers boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink who is hoping to welcome the striker back to the squad for the Fleetwood trip on Saturday after he missed the defeat at Walsall through injury.
The Gaffer said: “Nasser has been doing very well and we are very happy with him. He’s someone in the group who is very much liked. He’s a bit different to the others and gives us something different.
“He wants to learn and his attitude is second to none. He wants to play football every day, when he misses football he’s moody and unhappy. He wants to be on that pitch. He wants to be involved.
“He can easily play a step higher. We know that, other people know that so there’s always going to interest from other people.
“It was a must to give him a longer contract. He is part of our plans and we want him to stay here. He thinks Burton Albion is the best place for him to progress, to learn and to be a better player. He believes in the club, in his team mates and that this is the best place for him.”
