ALBION WON'T GET CARRIED AWAY BY BEING TOP OF THE LEAGUE

23 September 2015

JIMMY Floyd Hasselbaink says that his Albion team are concentrating on the Chesterfield trip on Saturday and are not getting carried away about being top of League One.

He says: "After the Swindon game we were top of the league but you don’t think about those things.

"We have had a good start and we are happy with that. But that’s all it is, a start.

"The key to that good start is the organisation, the willingness and the belief we can do it and can compete. We have gone up a division and that has meant we have had to be quicker and better on the ball. It’s a process and we are still working on it. I think it has been a number of things not just one that has made the difference.

"But I believe we have good players who are willing to work very, very hard.

"We are just taking each game one at a time. It’s not about getting carried away. It’s about doing your job and being competitive and taking the game to whichever opponent is in front of you.

If you want to be successful my belief is that you have to be strong as a unit. You have to concede as a few goals as possible and that’s not just the responsibility of the defence.

"Our first line of defence are the strikers and they are doing a lot of the work that makes us a success defensively. If you look at all the successful sides they have a tight defence. Some do that just with a back five or a back seven. With us it’s all 11. "
