BREWERS FANS ASKED TO DIG DEEP FOR CHARITY COLLECTION

28 September 2015

BURTON Hospitals League of Friends will be holding a bucket collection at the Sheffield United home game.

The charity, which supports staff and patients and raises money for vital equipment which the NHS would not otherwise be able to provide, will have volunteers aground the ground - including those from Bretby Rotary Club.

Burton Albion chairman Ben Robinson is urging fans to dig deep to support the charity.

He says: "I hope you can all support Burton Hospitals League of Friends who are holding a bucket collection as part of the group's 35th anniversary appeal.

"The group's chairman Pauline Spratt is retiring after this fund-raising drive and I hope our supporters can help her reach her last charity target which will help provide vital eye care equipment at Queen's Hospital.

"Pauline has worked tirelessly for the organisation and has made a remarkable contribution to staff and patients at Queen's Hospital and we are all very grateful for her efforts."

The League of Friends will also be holding a fund-raising dinner at the Pirelli Stadium on October 30 with tickets priced £35 still available from the League of Friends. Call 561111 or email Pauline.Spratt@burtonft.nhs.uk
