HASSELBAINK SAYS LEAGUE LEADERS ARE THERE TO BE SHOT AT

30 September 2015

BURTON Albion manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink says that his Burton Albion team are going to have to deal with raised expectations after hitting the top of League One

Speaking after the 0-0 draw against one of the promotion favourites, Sheffield United, he said: "“It’s now about keeping going and asking ‘can we play with that expectation?’ Because everyone is looking at us because we are top of the league and playing well and we are the team to beat. Can we handle that expectation now the neutral is looking at the games and saying ‘Burton should win that’?

"The level was very high on Tuesday. It’s now about staying at that level. If we do we will be successful and win more games than we will lose - it’s all about our performance and bringing that kind of level every week, every game, to the table. We have to be at that level and if we can do that it’s going to be a very exciting season."

The Brewers notched up another clean sheet against the Blades, which pleased the manager.

"That's very important if you want to be successful. It's very pleasing to see we are tight unit. That gives us a confidence and belief.

"But that confidence musn't turn into arrogance. You have to make sure we put in the work and keep the discipline."
