JOHN MOUSINHO PRAISES STRIKER STUART BEAVON

22 September 2015

JON McLaughlin didn’t have too many saves to make against Swindon Town, just a few early shots to save from range.

This has been very much the case since the start of the season and captain Mousinho told burtonalbionfc.co.uk that it is great if the ‘keeper behind him has a quiet game, despite knowing that goalkeepers love to make a save for the cameras.

“It is great if the ‘keeper can come away with saves and look good but we aren’t looking for that to happen with ours.

“If the ‘keeper has a quiet day, it is perfect for us and if the back four have a quiet day, it is even better for us.

“The way we want to play, we don’t want to invite any pressure, we want to be on the front foot.

“I think we have been right and were close to where we want to be and we are improving.”

Stuart Beavon was again the man to get the goal for Burton Albion. John Mousinho played with Beavon at Preston North End before moving to the Pirelli Stadium so he is a figure he knows well.

“The way Beavon plays, we works incredibly hard for us.

“He won player of the year last season for us and he scored six or seven goals for us. That tells you about the other attributes he has.

“He runs the channels incredibly hard, he wins challenges and wins headers for us. He works back and he is brilliant on the ball as well.

“He had the one season with Wycombe where he scored 26 goals and if he can replicate that the that will be brilliant for us.”
