MARK DUFFY CONFIRMS IT WAS SHANE'S GOAL

16 September 2015

Controversy still surrounds the goal that won the game on Saturday at the Pirelli Stadium against Rochdale.

At first, it appeared that Beavon got the flick on the beat Lillis in the away goal but after watched replay after replay, it appeared that the ball flicked up of Shane Cansdell-Sherriff.

Mark Duffy was the man to provide the ball for the goal and he said it looked as though the Australian Defender Cansdell-Sherriff was the man to win the game for the Albion.

“I think it was Shane’s goal.

“Beavon got across the front man as a good striker does and it’s gone over the defenders head.

“Shane said it nicked off his knee so he is claiming it.

“Bevs is trying to claim it as well but we’re not really bothered as long as it goes in and we get the victory.”

The man on loan from Birmingham City returned to the number ten role against Rochdale as opposed to the left wing where he played against Coventry.

“I will play anywhere that the gaffer asks me to play.” Said Duffy.

“He asked me to do a job against Rochdale and it worked really well.

“Rochdale were a good footballing team.

“I have never seen a Keith Hill side go so long in all the times I have played against them.”
