THE MIDLAND AIR CHARITY TO COLLECT AT THE COVENTRY GAME

5 September 2015

THE Midland Air Ambulance charity, based in Tatenhill will be holding a bucket collection around the Pirelli Stadium prior to the televised fixture with Coventry City.

The Midlands Air Ambulance Charity (formerly County Air Ambulance) is a United Kingdom regional helicopter emergency medical service. It operates three Eurocopter EC 135 helicopters during daylight hours as air ambulances in the Midlands region of England.

The charity is supported by senior paramedics from the West Midlands Ambulance Service. The charity is funded entirely by charitable donations given by corporate organisations and members of the public. In 2007/2008, the charity had an income of ÂŁ6,222,000

Andy Taylor, Head of Community said “It is great to see another well-known charity at the Pirelli Stadium raising funds.

“We had 11 collections throughout the 2014/15 season and we hope that this season we can better that and help more charities.

“We have supported charities such as Prostate Cancer, Burton Rotary and Kyreighs Cause in the most recent past and I am glad to now be supporting the Midland Air Ambulance charity.”

Angela Haywood, fundraiser said “Ladies from Burton Soroptimists enjoy fund raising for local charities.

“The Midland Air Ambulance (based at Tatenhill Air Field) is just the sort of Charity we like to help and support.

“We have recently had a talk about the Charity and the funds needed to keep the helicopters up in the air & saving lives.

“A Bucket Collection at a Burton Albion Match is an excellent way to raise funds for this very deserving Charity. A Big Thank you to Burton Albion Management & Fans for supporting our fund raising.”

Look out for the volunteers around the Pirelli Stadium from 1:30PM on Sept, 6.
