AKINS SAYS BREWERS ARE READY TO 'FINISH THE JOB'

20 April 2016

LUCAS Akins believes Burton Albion will take confidence from the Wigan result as they look to secure promotion over the last three games of the season.

He says: "It's up to us now to go and finish the job. It's a fantastic opportunity. We need to go out now and test our character against Colchester on Saturday who are fighting for their lives and need to win all their games if they want to stay up.

"We will go there and attack them as we want the win.

"We might need to be patient, stick together, as we realise that it might not be easy. We need to relax and show what we can do.

"We had a good result against Colchester earlier in the season but that counts for nothing now. You have no divine right to beat anyone in this league."

Akins says it will be different to the Wigan game.

"It's easy to get yourself up for games like that. We are disappointed with the result but it's a decent point. And it's a good feeling coming off knowing you have given everything and I'm sure the fans appreciate that."

Lucas Akins and Nigel Clough can both be seen being interviewed on BBC Midlands Today tonight
