BEAVON SAYS BREWERS ARE READY FOR PROMOTION PUSH

29 April 2016

STRIKER Stuart Beavon says Burton Albion are in good form going into a vital promotion clash with Gillingham.

Beavon says that the Brewers are in a good position and need to finish the job off now.

He said: “We would have all taken this at the start of the season. It’s very tight at the top of the table so we need to make sure we go out on Saturday, put on a performance and get a result.”

The win at Colchester means Albion’s promotion hopes are in their own hands.

He said: “We knew we had to go to Colchester and get a result. After the Wigan game we all felt back on top of our game and we are ready for the run in now.”

Beavon has been struggling with a knee injury but expects to be fit to play.

He says: “I have seen a specialist and had a scan and there has been some swelling. I have had a couple of injections and that has settled it down and if I have to have another one on Saturday I will.”

Beavon says he’s willing to play through the pain barrier.

“Any of the lads would do the same. We are so close now.”
