CLOUGH HOPES NOT BEING TOP WILL MAKE ALBION LESS OF A SCALP

7 April 2016

NOT being in top spot might take some of the pressure off Burton Albion, says Nigel Clough.

“Not being top anymore doesn’t worry us unduly,” says the Brewers boss. “We are a little bit less of a scalp now we aren’t top of the league - which might suit us."

The Brewers travel to Scunthorpe on Saturday looking to grow the gap between themselves and the chasing pack, led by Walsall.

Clough says: “We have to keep matching the results of Gillingham and Walsall. They have difficult away fixtures on Saturday and if we could get something, which is our priority, there could be a big swing.

“But there are no easy games in the last six. Colchester might be down there but can beat anybody in this league.

“Scunthorpe, with the new manager Graham Alexander coming in, the players will be looking to impress him for next season.”
