BURTON Albion winger Mark Duffy has been nominated for Sky Bet League One's player of the month award for March.
The winger on loan from Birmingham City scored three times in March including a goal of the season contender against Fleetwood Town.He will be up against:
Nathan Clarke (Bradford City) – central defender
Signed as cover, his experience and know-how proved invaluable in March. Coaxed a number of partners in central defence to three clean sheets in his six games and he had an impact in attack, too, with two assists in the month.
Mark Duffy (Burton Albion) – winger
His threat to opposing defences comes from his ability to go inside or out to cross telling balls into the box. Added to his superb delivery from set pieces were two lovely goals against Fleetwood Town and another in the 4-0 win at Port Vale.
Will Grigg (Wigan Athletic) - striker
The arch-poacher in the Wigan attack, his movement created opportunities for teammates and allowed him to find pockets of space in which to plunder four goals in six games, including a late equaliser in the 3-3 draw at Colchester United.
Sullay Kaikai (Shrewsbury Town) – midfielder
Five goals from five games after re-joining on loan from Crystal Palace, one as a second-half substitute, triggered Shrewsbury’s climb out of the bottom four. A stunning dribble and shot against Port Vale showcased his directness and eye for goal.
