MIDFIELDER RELIVES CRUCIAL WIGAN GOAL

20 April 2016

TOM Naylor says he wasn't sure he had scored the equalising goal against Wigan until he heard the crowd celebrate.

He says: "It was a tight angle. I couldn't really see it go in as the post was in the way. I just heard the crowd go mad and then I knew I had scored.

"I was just over the moon to have scored and got us back into the game.

"I looked behind me, saw that nobody was up front for Wigan and that we had numbers back and I went for it and luckily it fell to me and I put it away."

Naylor praised the atmosphere at the Pirelli for the clash between the League One top two.

He says: "The fans were brilliant. It's always nice when they are behind you. We need them to be that 12th man for the rest of the season.

"Everyone wants to play in those sort of games. Even though we went 1-0 down we knew we had the confidence to get back.

"We deserved to win. I thought we dominated the midfield, the defence was brilliant and Jon McLaughlin didn't have a lot to do."
