SAM HORNBY NAMED BRACKLEY TOWN'S PLAYER OF THE SEASON

18 April 2016

YOUNG Burton Albion goalkeeper Sam Hornby has been named Brackley Town's player of the season.

Sam joined National League North side Brackley Town on a one-month loan deal back in October 2015 but his outstanding performances secured him a longer loan.

He has been been ever-present in their side as they battle to stay in their league.

Kevin Wilkin, Brackley Town manager, named young keeper Sam Hornby as the manager’s player of the season and Hornby was also nominated by his team-mates as player of the season.

Brackley Chairman Francis Oliver opened proceedings at their annual awards evening by highlighting the strides made at the club through its community programme.

He said: “We have had another memorable season at the club.

"It has been memorable for many reasons – largely good ones!  – including a first season in the Hellenic Premier League for Brackley Town Saints, a fourth season at Step 2 in National League North for the first team, national coverage in the FA Cup and great steps forward for the club in the community.”
