WALKER DELIGHTED WITH GOAL ON HOME DEBUT

4 April 2016

TYLER Walker was delighted to mark his home debut for the Brewers with an injury time equaliser against Bury.

He said: “It’s definitely one of my greatest moments in professional football already to score in front of the home fans on my home debut. I am happy to have contributed to an important result for the team especially as results pretty much went our way today. Lucas put in an unbelievable ball and it was an instinctive finish and luckily I was in the right position.”

The on-loan Nottingham Forest striker also heaped praise on his teammates for not giving up with ten men against a tough Bury side.

“The way we kept going is great to see, especially after going down to ten men and conceding. Throughout the side we battled well, from the goalkeeper all the way to Beavon upfront who always puts 100% in. Jon thankfully made some good saves which kept it to 1-0 enabling us to still have a chance.

“The lads have been great since I’ve come in and the confidence is high in the dressing room and we are all ready to kick on again next Saturday against Scunthorpe. It has filled me with confidence coming into a team doing well near the top of the league and I feel the more I can contribute the better.”
