BREWERS CONTINUE TO SUPPORT PROSTATE CANCER UK

5 August 2016

BURTON Albion are continuing to raise awareness of prostate cancer after a successful screening session held at the Pirelli Stadium earlier in the year.

Albion fans can pick up a brand new reversible scarf new in store in support of the EFL’s Official Charity Partner Prostate Cancer UK.

Burton Albion will be making a donation towards the Prostate Cancerleading mens’ health  charity for every revisable scarf sold online or in store. This is part of the on-going campaign ran by the Burton Albion Community Trust (BACT).

In early June BACT participated in the Football to Amsterdam  cycling challenge from Barnsley to Amsterdam back in helping Prostate Cancer UK raise £500,000.

James Beeby, Director of Fundraising at Prostate Cancer UK, said: “We’re delighted that Burton Albion have continued the fight against prostate cancer by raising vital funds for Prostate Cancer UK.

“Ignoring prostate cancer will not beat it, and the money raised by the club’s fantastic fans will fund ground-breaking research to help fight the disease. That will help us provide dedicated support and information to men and their families affected by this disease.

“We are proud to be Official Charity Partner of the EFL, and Burton and clubs from across the football family have consistently shown a brilliant demonstration of what we call Men United: people joining one team to fight a common opposition – prostate cancer.

“One man every hour dies from prostate cancer; it’s the most common cancer in men, but we want to make prostate cancer a disease that the next generation of men do not fear. We thank Burton Albion for joining the fight.”

Albion fans can pick up the scarf for just £12.50.

There is also a new stock of a limited edition t-shirt in the Club Shop at the Pirelli Stadium.

The new shirt includes all team names the Brewers will be facing during the 2016/17 Sky Bet Championship season as the Albion gear up to what promises a memorable year.
