IT'S JUST ANOTHER THREE POINTS AT STAKE

25 August 2016

NIGEL Clough will face up against one of his former teams in Derby County tomorrow as the Rams visit the Pirelli Stadium.

The Brewers boss says this local derby is just another game, another three points are up for grabs, despite it being one of his former clubs.

He said: “It’s nothing personal at all, there’s three points at stake and that’s it.

“It’s the same three points as it would be against Blackburn, Sheffield Wednesday or any body else in this league, nothing else.

“I don’t feel as though we have to justify, I’m speaking on behalf of the staff as well here.”

Burton skipper John Mousinho came off against Blackburn, just after half time, with a tight hamstring and he missed Tuesday’s EFL Cup tie against Liverpool. He will be hit and miss to face Derby tomorrow evening.

“He (John Mousinho) is about 50/50 for Friday night and despite us having a couple of weeks break, if he’s not right he won’t play,” said Clough.

He added: “We have to have everybody at 100 percent on Friday night to stand any chance at all. We’re going to have to be at it to compete with them.

“We know their strengths, Craig Bryson is one of the best runners in the league.”

Academy product Ben Fox made his Burton Albion debut on Tuesday against the team he’s supported since a youngster.

Clough said: “To make your first team debut against Liverpool was a wonderful experience for him, he will do nothing but benefit from that, and he did OK as well.”
