NIGEL CLOUGH LOOKING FORWARD TO AN HISTORIC WEEK

22 August 2016

NIGEL Clough says everybody is looking forward for an historic week for Burton Albion as the Brewers host Liverpool tomorrow night then Derby County on Friday.

Jurgen Klopp’s men will visit the Pirelli Stadium live in front of the Sky Sports cameras in a 7.45PM kick off in the second round of the EFL Cup.

Clough said: “Everybody is looking forward to a brilliant week for the club.

“It’s not one of those weeks where if you don’t win you’re going to get relegated so we’re just going to enjoy it.”

Looking ahead to Liverpool, Nigel Clough said “There’s no point in sitting back because they’ll murder us if we do that. We have got to go forward and create.”

The Brewers have had a steady start to the new Championship season, having picked up four points from their first four games.

“I think we have enjoyed the first few weeks of the season and we’re going to enjoy the next eight months as well,” said Clough.

The Brewers boss will be without his captain John Mousinho for Tuesday’s game.

He said: “John Mousinho is very doubtful for tomorrow night, his hamstring has tightened up and despite us having a break after the Derby game I don’t think he will make it tomorrow.

“There are one or two others but we will see after training if we can get them out there in order to get two competitive teams on the pitch.”
