ASTON VILLA BETTING PREVIEW

26 December 2016

THE games are coming thick and fast for Burton Albion as we head into the busy Christmas period with a Boxing Day visit to the improving Aston Villa next up.

If the Brewers play like they did against leaders Newcastle, then Clough will be confident his side can come away with a result at Villa Park.

Burton gave Rafa Benitez’s side one of their toughest games of the season with the Spaniard admitting his side rode their luck at times at the Pirelli Stadium – coming away with a narrow 2-1 win.

Villa, though, haven’t performed as expected after they were relegated in embarrassing fashion from the Premier League last season.

Our Midlands rivals appointed Roberto Di Matteo at the start of the campaign but with the Villans close to the relegation zone, he was replaced by Steve Bruce.

The former Hull manager has steadied the ship, losing just twice in his first 11 games, and Villa are slowly creeping towards the play-off places.

Summer signing Jonathan Kodjia is one of the players to shine under Bruce and scored the winner against Queens Park Rangers last weekend.

The former Bristol City man joined the club for £11million and is beginning to look the part in an exciting Villa side.

Albert Adomah, Jack Grealish and Jordan Ayew are also players to keep an eye on at Villa Park.
Burton need a win, there’s no doubt about that, but if they keep performing like they have then results will come.

You can back our boys at 9/2 with club sponsor TempoBet.

Lloyd Dyer popped up to score his fourth of the season against Newcastle and will fancy his chances against a leaky Villa backline.

The winger is available at 5/2 to score anytime.
