BREWERS HANDED A BOOST IN ATTACKING DEPARTMENT

22 December 2016

NIGEL Clough will be handed a boost in the attacking department over the festive period as Stuart Beavon played 90 minutes on Tuesday night in the Birmingham Senior Cup against Hednesford Town.

Beavon has missed the last few games for the Brewers with a dead leg but could return in the coming days.

Nigel Clough said: “Stuart Beavon has been carrying a couple of knocks and has been unavailable for the last few games but he had a run in the Birmingham Senior Cup, played a full game and got himself a goal. He is back in contention for the games over Christmas.”

The Albion boss will be monitoring his squad closely as they are set to play three games in eight days, starting with Aston Villa on Boxing Day.

“Will Miller has a little knock on his knee, Hamza Choudhury felt his back and Lee Williamson got a dead leg at Hednesford,” said Clough. “It’s little things like that and we will have to see if they heal up for Boxing Day but nothing serious.”
