MIDFIELDER Ben Fox will be joining Tamworth on a month-long youth loan.

The 18-year-old was signed on a pro-contract for the 2016/2017 season after coming through the Burton Albion Academy.

Brewers boss Nigel Clough believes that a loan spell is the next step in the player’s development.

Fox said: “With everyone fully fit and being a first year pro, my opportunities with the first team squad are limited so it’s about going out and getting some experience and I’m delighted with this chance.

“Tamworth are doing really well and are pushing for promotion, so hopefully I can add to their squad and make a difference. I will speak to their gaffer, see what he wants from me and do my best for them.

“Hopefully, I can use this to gain some valuable experience and improve my football.”

Tamworth are currently in fifth place in the Vanarama Conference North.  Fox will be available to play for the Lambs on Saturday when they travel to Altrincham. The loan runs until January 1, when Tamworth take on Nuneaton.
