RESERVES BEAT MORECAMBE

7 December 2016

A youthful Burton Albion Reserve side beat Morecambe for the second time in a week this afternoon 1-0.

A free kick from Ben Fox early in the first half was enough for the young Brewers to take all three points. Reserve regulars Fox, Harry Campbell, Ryan Delaney and Charlie Gatter were involved alongside most of the under 18’s.

Academy manager Dan Robinson said: “It was a good battling performance from the lads, we started the game well and took the lead thanks to a good free-kick from Ben Fox then we were back to the wall for a bit of the first half. We then had a few chances and then in the second half the game was majority there’s in terms of possession and chances. We were very pleased because of the way we saw out the game and the fact the young lads were playing against a fair few senior players of Morecambe. Clean sheets also breed confidence so we are happy with the result.”
