BREWERS RESERVES LOSE OUT TO WREXHAM

BURTON Albion reserves lost 5-2 to Wrexham this afternoon in the Final Third Development League.

A side full of academy players were put to the sword at Colliers Park as they conceded five but goals from Marcus Dinanga and Dylan Garnett softened the blow.

Straight from the kick off it was Burton Albion who took the lead! Marcus Dinanga rifled the ball into the back of the net, it was a fine finish from the youngster.

26 minutes in, the hosts found an equaliser. A ball through the middle was latched on to by Kayden Jackson who made no mistake in slotting past Sam Hornby in between the Albion sticks.

The hosts wasted no time in getting themselves ahead ..Two quick-fire goals from Jackson and Davies respectively put Wrexham 3-1 ahead just before the break.

Just five minutes in to the second half, the hosts added another to their tally. Davies this time turned provider for Lee Fowler who met a cross at the back post with a diving header to make it 4-1.

A rare Albion attack a couple minutes later saw Wrexham goalkeeper Liam Sharpe make a great save from a long-range shot.

Lee Fowler had the ball in the back of the Albion net again, only for it to be ruled out due to a foul in the build-up play.

with half an hour left to play, Burton pulled a goal back through Dylan Garnett but his goal was soon cancelled out as Wrexham added a 5th! Jackson grabbed his hat-trick as he ran through on goal and fired between Hornby's legs.
