BREWERS WILL FOCUS ON THEIR OWN GAME SAYS THE SKIPPER

17 February 2016

BREWERS skipper John Mousinho says the team won’t being paying too much attention to Saturday’s League One results.

The Brewers will remain top over the weekend whatever happens despite having to wait until Monday to play Southend before the Sky cameras whilst their promotion rivals play on Saturday.

Mousinho said: “If you get too caught up in what other sides are doing you lose sight of what you are doing yourselves.

"It’s a different scenario this weekend as we don’t have a  game to focus on but the important thing is to enjoy not playing on a Saturday, not worry about the other results, and  ensure we have our eye on the ball for Southend.”

Albion and Southend are again battling for promotion in League One this season after two years of close fought encounters in League Two.

Mousinho says:” They are a tough side and we had a tough game against them earlier in the season. There were the play-off games and then a couple of feisty encounters last season so the fixture has a bit of rivalry to it even though we are a lot of miles apart.

“But we will play it like any other game. Roots Hall is a difficult place to go and we know they are a good side. We will make sure we do the right things.

“We will prepare properly and won’t under or overestimate them and hopefully come away with the right result.”
