NIGEL Clough says that February will be an important month for his promotion-chasing team.
The Brewers play Bradford on Saturday, Chesterfield on February 12 and Walsall on February 27 – all at the Pirelli. They travel to Southend on February 22.
The Albion boss said: “It’s a big month for us. We only have the four games in February but with Bradford, Walsall and Southend as well, all teams in the mix, we will know a little bit more about our chances at the end of the month.”
Albion go into the month as League One leaders despite the 2-1 defeat at Rochdale last Saturday.
Clough said: “Rochdale was probably the worst we have played since we have been here. Peterborough (where the Brewers won 1-0) was one of the best, certainly defensively and in terms of organisation.
“That’s football – that’s what it is. You see teams who are brilliant one week and not so good the next. What we are doing is striving to eliminate that inconsistency.
"It’s not been a problem for a season or so. When a team wins a league and is top of the next one they are consistent. So it was a little blip against Rochdale. No-one saw it coming, not least the players after the great performance at Peterborough.”
