BURTON Albion manager Nigel Clough praised a battling win for his team as the Brewers consolidated top spot in League One.

Clough said: "We had to fight and battle against what I thought was a very good Bradford team.

"It wasn't pretty at times and we rode our luck. John Mousinho made one mistake and their lad went clear and he didn't get punished for it and sometimes those tight margins get you the results.

"We were 1-0 up against Shrewsbury and we threw it all away and didn't perform as we could against Rochdale but we battled away and gave everything today.

"We maybe didn't deserve the margin of victory but it was lovely to get the three points and I thought the back four and keeper deserved it."
