MATTY Palmer will remain with Oldham Athletic on loan until the end of the season.
His youth loan expired after the game on Saturday but it has now been extended as an emergency loan.
The Burton Albion youngster has made seven appearances for Oldham since joining them in January.
Nigel Clough said: “We are extending his loan. It has gone from a youth loan to an emergency loan so we can call him back after the next four games.
“He is playing well there and if they have got to play any of the top six, he might do us a favour.
“He (Matty Palmer) is playing now and with us bringing Hamza (Choudhury) in, it seems daft to bring him back just to sit him on the bench.”
