ROSE DELIGHTED WITH ACADEMY PERFORMANCE AGAINST BRADFORD

16 February 2016

Sam Rose on young Brewers’ 3-1 win over Bradford

The Brewers continued with another good performance with a 3-1 win over Bradford City in Leeds on Saturday.

Coach Sam Rose was delighted by the groups’ performance and the dominance that they displayed.

“It was a good performance; the boys were good from back to front. From the goalkeeper all the way through the back four, who were solid for the majority of the game, the full backs were effective in possession on the whole and the midfield three did well, they worked really hard, along with the front 3, linking into attacks. It was pleasing that the players were able to continue with good individual, unit and team performances. We created lots of chances and defended really well.

“The first goal was scored by Charlie Gatter, it was a little bit of a messy goal, Bradford didn’t deal with a direct ball from a set piece and it fell to Charlie who slid it into an open net, that was a great start to the game.

“Bradford equalised with a good goal and we went in at half time 1-1. Our second goal came from a ball forward, it has broke to Ben Fox, he slipped it through to Marcus Dinanga who scored with his second attempt, he dinked it over the keeper, it was a really good finish.

“The third one was a well worked goal, a few of the lads involved in some combination play on the edge of the box, it was played to Mirza (Sejdic) who passed it past the keeper for 3-1.”

The young Brewers travel to play Mansfield Town in two weeks time, looking to continue their good form and level of performance.
