BREWERS legend Aaron Webster has named his favourite XI.
4-4-2
MANAGER: NIGEL CLOUGH without a doubt. He was my manager for the longest and I’ve got a great relationship with him on and off the pitch. Some words for Paul Peschisolido though, I really enjoyed my time under him and he is was one manager that played me further forward so I scored a few more goals.
GK: POOLE – He was very reliable and very rarely made a mistake.
RB: BRAYFORD – He can attack and defend.
LB: HENSHAW – He didn't have much flair going forward but he was always reliable and wanted to carry on playing with a broken leg.
CB: BUXTON – He is solid and gone on to have a good career.
CB: JAMES – A bit calm and casual on the ball.
CM: CLOUGH – Likes to get the ball down and play. It was a pleasure to play so many games with Nigel as I’m an avid Liverpool fan and he’s had a great career so for me to play on the same pitch as him then for him to manage me is something I’ll always remember.
CM: STRIDE – He will run through a brick wall for the team..’Mr Burton Albion’.
LM: MAGHOMA – In the football league me and Maghoma had a good connection down the left we would always pass to each other even when the pass wasn’t on sometimes. We got on really well on the pitch.
RM: GILROY – When we we’re in the conference me and Keith had a good connection.
ST: KEE – The best finisher I have ever played with at Burton. He holds the ball up well and he’s a great lad in the dressing room as well.
ST: CLARE – The amount of goals he scored and the reputation he built up  in the conference, he was a great lad to have on your team.
SUBS:
CORBETT – He was unlucky not to make the XI but I played 9/10 years with him. He turned from a striker to a full back. He was always a man you’d want in your team. He would turn not so good balls in to great balls just with his effort and fitness. He could play aswell.
DUCROS – One of the most technically gifted players I played with.
HARRAD – He scored important goals.
CALRE – He helped Shaun Harrad in his career.
AUSTIN – He is one of my best friends in football and just with the attributes he had, he could head, run he could ping the ball 80 yards. I think he could have played a lot higher.
McGRATH – A bit unlucky not to be in the XI. He could mix it with tackling and playing. He is one of my close mates now.
