BEAVON HOPING TO GET MORE POINTS ON THE BOARD

13 January 2016

WITH Peterborough United still involved in the FA Cup on Saturday, it meant no game for the Brewers after a 3-0 defeat to the Posh in the first round knocked them out of the competition.

Manager Nigel Clough allowed his players to have an extended break during the week with the aim of his players recharging their batteries for the second half of the Sky Bet League One Season.

Stuart Beavon said: "Sometimes it is tough (having no game), we have only had two games in a month but sometimes it can be nice.

"Going into the back end of the season, a little break can be good to recharge and kick on now.

"You just want to keep going and play every game to get points on the board.

"You get hiccups along the way but it is a case of keep working hard to be ready to go."

Stuart Beavon has managed to cement his place in the Burton Albion side despite competition from forwards Timmy Thiele and Aurelien Joachim.

Nigel Clough has hinted that Joachim could be making a loan move sooner rather than later but Stuart Beavon states it is always good to have competition.

"Its always good to have competition because it always keeps you on your toes.

"I've been in the position before where you want to be in the team but you have to keep working, it's hard because one substitution can change and you'll be out."
