BUSINESSES URGED TO BACK PITCH POJECT

22 January 2016

BUSINESSES are being urged to sign up and support Burton Albion Community Trust as it looks to secure the final funding for a much-needed new community facility.

BACT has submitted plans to build an artificial pitch adjacent to Burton Albion’s Pirelli Stadium which will be for community use and which will benefit a wide range of clubs and organisations.

The £1 million project has already received a massive boost having secured nearly £850,000 of funding from The Premier League and the FA Facilities Fund.

BACT is now working with local partners and has secured donations from Trent and Dove, The Consolidated Charity of Burton and the East Staffordshire Local Neighbourhood Development Fund
Now a major fund-raising drive has been launched to secure the final £100,000 and Burton firm Brian Mole Independent Financial Advisers is the first to sign up.

The company handed over a cheque for £2,000 to BACT at the Pirelli Stadium.

Kevin Douglas, from Brian Mole, said: “We are proud to support Burton Albion Community Trust in this project and hope our donation will get the ball rolling and other companies will come and support it as well as it’s a great asset for the local community.”

The facility will not only enable BACT to greatly expand its own programme but also see many other sports organisations in the town have access to a new purpose-built site.

BACT secured £843,510 of the funding from the Premier League and FA Facilities Fund which is delivered by the Football Foundation - the country's largest sports charity.

BACT chairman John Jackson said: “A strategic need for a facility of this kind was identified in East Staffordshire, which is one of the reasons we secured this important funding. The hard work and impact that BACT makes in the community was also important in making sure we received this support. Now I would urge all local businesses to help us get across the line and hit our target.”

Any business interested in supporting the project can go to Just Giving  at https://www.justgiving.com/bact to donate.

Or, the following package has been created for businesses to support – which can be tailored to any firm’s particular needs.
