STEPHEN Bywater has recently joined the Brewers on a contract until the end of the season after Remi Matthews returned to his parent club Norwich City.
Jon McLaughlin has been in fine form this season pulling off one of the greatest saves against Swindon Town at the Pirelli Stadium in which the Brewers were 1-0 winners that day.“He’s been in fantastic form,” said Stephen Bywater.
“I don’t believe in coming in and saying I want to play.
“I’m with the gaffer, I respect the gaffer and I trust the gaffer that he picks the right team.
“Jon is on fine form and the lads together are working well. You have just got to keep going.”
Bywater hasn’t played a game since December but insists he will always be ready whenever called upon.
He said: “I’m here if the club needs me, if the gaffer needs me then I’m always ready – Martin will make sure of that.
“Martin (Taylor) always makes sure you’re ready whether you’re starting or not.
“I get on well with Jon and it’s a good relationship we have and it’s a good union and long may it continue because the lads need a good goalkeeper at the back.”
