CLOUGH LOOKS TO BRING IN TWO OR THREE NEW FACES FOR SECOND HALF OF SEASON

7 January 2016

NIGEL CLOUGH is looking to bring in up to three fresh faces to help with the promotion push.

The Brewers boss says: “We need some cover with Jerome Binnom-Williams going back to Crystal Palace and hopefully one or two others. Ideally there would be three loans coming in and two or three going out.

"We have Tom Flanagan out with appendicitis but we still have a healthy size squad but two or three new faces wouldn’t do any harm at this stage.”

Striker Aurelien Joachim may go out on loan.

Clough says: “He’s an international and needs to be playing regularly. There’s a chance he will go out on loan and we will bring a little bit more cover in for the forward line.

“The team has been so settled it’s hard for players to push their way in. The spine of the team has played pretty regularly. When there has been an odd change someone has slipped straight in and done the same job.

“Jerome and Remi Matthews came to play but because the team’s played so well it’s been hard to give them a game. You need a strong 18 but beyond that lads are kicking their heels and may as well go out and get some football.”
