FLANAGAN SIDEDLINED BY APPENDIX OPERATION

4 January 2016

BREWERS defender Tom Flanagan will be out of action for up to six weeks after undergoing an appendix operation.

Flanagan was enjoying a run in the side alongside John Mousinho at the heart of the Albion defence but was forced to miss Saturday's game with Shane Cansdell-Sherriff returning to the starting line-up.

Brewers manager Nigel Clough said: "Tom felt rough on Wednesday and Thursday and they called him in and he had his appendix out on Friday.

"It's a shame as he was playing so well but Shane stepped back in and was magnificent.

"Tom will get another chance to get back in when he's fit in four to six weeks."
