26 January 2016

The youngsters also got to meet Billy Brewer and Albion midfielder Robbie Weir.

Afterwards they voted their big day out as a winner – even if the result went against the Brewers on the day.

Steve Smith, Stretton Eagles community development coordinator, said: “Thank you for organising a fantastic enjoyable day for the Eagles. A real shame about the result, but nonetheless a great family day.”

There will be even more young footballers at the Fleetwood game on March 12, when it’s Burton Albion’s annual Junior Club Day.

Each year, the club designates what is normally the away terrace exclusively for fans taking up the Junior Club Day offer.

Not only is there a special ticket deal available but junior clubs have the chance to do a lap of honour, meet the players after the game and the club which sells the most tickets will have the honour of being flag bearers.

There will also be a draw of all the teams present with one (up to 16 players) having the chance to take penalties on the pitch at half time.

Admission prices are just £3 for juniors, £15 for adults and £13 concessions. There must be at least one adult for every seven juniors.
