"IT PUTS A MARKER DOWN"

18 January 2016

THE Brewers are sitting pretty at the top of the Sky Bet League One table with games in hand over the teams immediately below.

Another goal for Calum Butcher and a goal from Stuart Beavon, his first since September, was enough to secure a comfortable win.

“It puts a marker down you know,” said Calum Butcher.

“We’ve come to a club like Coventry and took three points convincingly.

“Jon (McLaughlin) and the back four were brilliant today and they’ve taken the clean sheet, not many teams do that.

“I think it says a lot about our performance and what we’ve done all season.

“We’ve got some big games coming up but this was a big one too.”

There was a crowd of 17,140 at the Ricoh Arena with a huge away following of 1,542.

Calum Butcher said: “That’s what it is all about, playing in front of big crowds and expressing yourself. We want to do well as a team.”

“You have got to have that confidence.

“You’ve got to remember why you’re there and it’s down to the hard work we’ve all put in.

“If we keep that mentality and not get too high, not get too low we can definitely be up there come the end of the season.”
