MANAGER BACKS JUNIOR CLUB DAY

19 January 2016

BURTON Albion boss Nigel Clough is hoping to see hundreds of young football fans turn out for the club’s annual Junior Club Day.

Always one of the highlights of the season for young Brewers supporters, the home fixture against Fleetwood on Saturday, March 12, has been selected for this season’s special day for junior football clubs.

Each year, Burton Albion designates what is normally the away terrace exclusively for fans taking up the Junior Club Day offer.

Not only is there a special ticket deal available but junior clubs have the chance to do a lap of honour, meet the players after the game and the club which sells the most tickets will have the honour of being flag bearers.

There will also be a draw of all the teams present with one (up to 16 players) having the chance to take penalties on the pitch at half time.

Nigel Clough and Brewers skipper John Mousinho took time out from training to meet Andy Topham, Burton Junior Football League chairman, to officially launch Junior Club Day.

Andy said: “The Junior Club Day is very popular and last season attracted more than 950 youngsters. We know they help create a brilliant atmosphere at the Pirelli Stadium and that they will have a great day out supporting Burton Albion.”

Admission prices are just £3 for juniors, £15 for adults and £13 concessions. There must be at least one adult for every seven juniors.

Booking forms are available by emailing ticketing@burtonalbionfc.co.uk, calling 01283 565938 and can be downloaded here

Forms need to be returned by February 20.
