MANAGER REACTION POST-ROCHDALE

30 January 2016

Nigel Clough gave his verdict after the Brewers were beaten 2-1 by Rochdale at Spotland.

He said: "It was a disappointing one off the back of Tuesday night.

"We knew it would be a difficult game after they lost 6-1 that's twice we've faced teams that have lost 6-1 with Shrewsbury the week before."

Two goals in half an hour gave Rochdale a comfy lead at the break but apart from the goals, Jon McLaughlin didn't have a save to make.

"It was a strange first half. McLaughlin picked the ball out of the net twice but had nothing else to do," said Clough.

"We didn't struggle with the conditions, we just didn't play accordingly.

"On Tuesday out back four was set out right and worked from the first minute to the last and we said we're not conceding, we didn't have the principle today."
