Two changes for the Brewers at the Ricoh Arena - in came Butcher for Akins and O'Connor for Weir who is suspended today.

The home side had a great chance 20 minutes into the game as Armstrong was put through, albeit in a wide posituion but he did well to pick out a cross for Murphy who missed the ball but was sure he should have had a penalty.

It was the hiome side that went on to dominate the first half. Armstrong picked up the ball on the half way and ran through the Albion before Mousinho brought him down and picked up a yellow card. The resulting free kick from 20 yards was a good one but with the form that Jon McLaughlin was in, of course the Albion stopper kept Coventry at bay.

Again McLaughlin was at his best to deny Maddison. This time it was a shot from the edge of the box which the Albion 'keeper clawed out of the top right corner.

The Brewers were next to try their luck as a training ground corner involving Duffy and Naylor very nearly worked. Naylor was found free on the edge of the box before firing towards goal but Charles-Cook was equal to it.

HT: Coventry City 0-0 Burton Albion

No changes were made at half time.

GOAL: Just minutes into the second half the Brewers took the lead! A chipped ball into the box from Duffy wasn't a dangerous one so Phillips chested back to his 'keeper but Butcher was well alert, nipped in and hit the ball towards goal and found the top corner!

The lead could have been doubled eight minutes later. A clever free kick from Duffy put Beavon clean through, he opted for power and nearly broke the crossbar!

El Khayati was replaced by Akins on the hour mark, it was a like-for-like swap.

GOAL: The lead was finally doubled! Stuart Beavon with his first goal since September put the Albion 2-0 up! A long ball from O'Connor was well controlled by the forward who fired into the roof of Charles-Cook's net!

Callum Reilly was given the final 15 minutes of the game as he replaced Calum Butcher.

Bennett was given his Brewers debut for the final ten minutes of the game and he caused an instant impact. He picked up the ball in the corner and charged towards goal before being wrestled down by Vincelot.

FT: Coventry City 0-2 Burton Albion.
