ON THE WHISTLE MATCH REPORT

30 January 2016

Just the one change for the Brewers to the team that beat Peterborough United on Tuesday. In came Anthony O'Connor for Calum Butcher in the middle of the park.

GOAL: After just eight minutes, the home side had taken the lead. A well taken shot from Camps found its way into the right hand corner of McLaughlin's net from 25 yards. 1-0

There was a reaction from the Brewers after the goal as Stuart Beavon ran down the other end, attracted the keeper out of the goal before laying off Akins but his curling effort was headed away by Lancashire.

GOAL: Midway into the first half John Mousinho gave away a penalty, he dragged down Henderson in the box. The same man stepped up and made no mistake. 2-0

O'Connor thought he had got one back for the Albion just before half time as he headed into an empty net only for it to be ruled offside.

HT: Rochdale 2-0 Burton Albion

Anthony O'Connor was replaced at the break by striker Timmy Thiele as Clough looked to switch to a 4-3-3.

Jamie Allen nearly made it 3-0 early in the second half as he teed up his shot from range but McLaughlin managed to get something on it to tip it over.

GOAL: The Brewers pulled one back with 10 minutes to go. A long ball from Tom Naylor found Lucas Akins in the wings who lofted the ball over Josh Lillis! 2-1

FT: Rochdale 2-1 Burton Albion

Attendance: 2,994.
