BREWERS SIGN STRIKER ON LOAN

16 July 2016

BURTON Albion have signed Brighton and Hove Albion striker Chris O’Grady on a season-long loan.

The 30-year-old forward, who was born in Nottingham, spent the entire 2015/16 season on loan at Nottingham Forest where he made 26 appearances, finding the net twice during that time.

O’Grady started his career at now-Premier League champions Leicester City before making a permanent move to Rotherham United. He has also represented Sheffield Wednesday and Barnsley in recent years.

O’Grady said: “I am happy to be here and I just want to contribute to the challenge ahead, it’s an exciting one.

“I was with Nigel a year ago at Sheffield United and I loved it, but it was cut short as after a month I got called back.”

Nigel Clough said: “What we know with Chris is that he will be fit and will be out there for us most weeks.

“He has Championship experience and has played in the Championship now for the last few years.

“There are not many strikers out there with that sort of experience that we can get.”
