MOUSINHO LOOKING FORWARD TO GETTING TO KNOW NEW FACES

21 July 2016

Brewers Skipper John Mousinho is looking forward to getting to know the sides new signings when the squad visit Devon

“It is so much easier to get to know players off the pitch away from training, its going to be good to be in each others pockets for the next few days as it’s the best way to get to know each other.

"Training sometimes can not be the most sociable thing especially in pre-season when everyone’s just trying to get through the fitness work and impress the gaffer. So I think as a whole the squad are looking forward to getting to know Ben, Chris, Kyle and Jackson a bit more away from the training ground.

"This can only benefit the side on and off the pitch going into the season.”

Mousinho also said he sees the two central defenders brought in as healthy competition and is certain that their experience in the Championship will benefit the whole squad:

“The more we add to the squad the better, we lost two defenders and to bring in two that have experience of the league is great for the club and the squad. We need the Championship experience and its always a squad game football.

"That might sound a bit cliché but look at Matty Palmer who barely started last season then comes back from his loan spell and helped us cross the line in promotion.

"The competition racks up in training and games and I am sure everyone will learn bits and bobs from the new signings.”
