NAYLOR LOOKING FORWARD TO PLAYING ON HOME TURF

15 July 2016

THE Brewers will head into their second pre-season friendly against Stoke City on Saturday after beating Leek Town 2-0 in their first friendly on Wednesday.

Each player was handed 45 minutes against Leek and Nigel Clough will be aiming to do the same thing against Premier League Stoke City at the Pirelli Stadium.

Tom Naylor lined up in the second XI last night, he was partnered with Charlie Gatter in the defensive line and he’s confident of a good display from the Brewers against Stoke.

He said: “Stoke are a good premier league side but we’re quite good on our pitch so as long as we pass the ball and work hard I think it will be beneficial to us.”

There has been some changes in the Brewers camp since the last game of the 2015/16 season but Naylor insists the group are still as close as ever.

“When we all came in last week it was the same as when we left, we have brought a few new lads in and they’ve settled in brilliantly,” said Naylor.

He added: “A few lads have gone but we’re still a tight-knit group and we gel so well.”
