NIGEL Clough's side featured the players that didn't pick up and playing time against QPR yesterday, along with a mixture of academy products.GOAL: The home side took the lead in the second minute! The Albion goalkeeper, and captain for the night, Stephen Bywater hit a bit of bad fortune as he sliced a back-pass into the path of Buxton's number nine Lee Bennett who made no mistake in firing into the empty net 1-0.
That early goal was a real wake up call for the Brewers, and it certainly kicked them into shape. Akins and Reilly found space on the edge of the box on two separate occasions, both registering shots but neither of them troubled Budtz in the home goal.
Buxton didn't see much of the ball in the first half as Burton Albion played at a high-tempo thanks to the energy of Joe Sbarra and Ben Fox in the middle of the park. Lucas Akins alos looked lively on the right but the Brewers front men failed to meet any of his crosses.
Burton were nearly level just before the break as Butcher raced through on goal and let off a shot at Budtz near post but his effort rattled the woodwork.

BAFC emerged from the break unchanged.
The goal scorer Bennett threw Edwards to the floor not long into the second half, off the ball. The referee effectively sent the player off but advised that Buxton could replace him with a sub.
GOAL: The Brewers were level with 20 minutes to go through winger Lucas Akins. A wonderful won by Joe Sbarra provided Akins with a simple tap in at the far post to level things up 1-1.
The Brewers made four subs midway through the second half as Bywater, Akins, McCrory and Fox made way for Wakeman, Cotterill, Steele and Dinanga.
Marcus Harness was denied his 6th goal of pre-season late on as he lined up a shot from range but the keeper in the Buxton goal was equal to it low to his right.
