NIGEL Clough says that his squad is in good shape going into the hard work of pre-season.
The players reported back for training last Thursday and begin the pre-season programme of games on July 16.
Clough says: “They are all in good shape after reporting back. They are good group anyway and that continues throughout the summer.
“This week is the hardest, with double sessions, before heading into the pre-season programme.
“We have pretty much picked up where we left off. There’s only Ben Turner really added at the moment and he has fitted straight in.
“The only downside of not getting more signings in early is not having them at the start of the pre-season. Having them here means you know they are doing the physical work and are being integrated into the team spirit. The later they come in, it becomes a little bit more difficult.”
